Community Day Center
The VPI Community Day Center provides services for part of a day in a group setting to adults who need an enriched health, supportive or social experience, and who may need assistance with activities of daily living, supervision, or protection. Program services may include personal care, supervision, provision of meals, health monitoring, medication administration, behavior management, community outings, and activities designed to meet physical, social, and leisure time needs.
Community Outreach Center – Adult Program
The Community Outreach Center (ORC) is a free drop-in mental health community center for individuals with a formal mental health and/or substance use diagnosis. With a focus on providing a safe and supportive environment for adults involved in the mental health recovery process, the ORC offers numerous peer-led programs and activities that offer connection, community engagement, skills development, and self-direction growth through shared experience. Our adult program is open to community members who are 18 years of age and older.
Community Outreach Center – Youth and Young Adult Program
The Community Outreach Center (ORC) is a free drop-in mental health community center for individuals with a formal mental health and/or substance use diagnosis. The ORC Youth and Young Adult program offers supported education, access, and delivery of mental health services that are trauma informed, skill practice with side-by-side coaching available along with social engagement and crisis prevention planning. The Youth and Young Adult programs works to cultivate healthy habits, develop community, and encourage independence within young adults. The Youth and Young adult program is open to community members who are 14-24 years old.
Special Olympics offers social and recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities in the form of year-round sports training and competition. VPI’s Special Olympics program currently serves about 60 individuals between four sports – basketball in the winter, track and field (athletics) in the spring, softball in the summer, and bowling in the fall. The primary focus of this program is to improve physical and social well-being.
